912 artists headlined a stadium concert during 2025, 16.5% more than the previous year. That is the figure that opens IQ Magazine's Global Stadium Report 2026, published in early August and picked up by the Portal de la Música en Vivo of the Asociación de Promotores Musicales.
The report adds that the number of stadium shows grew by more than 12%. And it flags a factor shaping the current year: 16 North American stadiums are out of the 2026 concert calendar because the FIFA World Cup is occupying them.
A single Spanish venue among the twenty
The report's Stadium Stars selection brings together 20 benchmark stadiums. Madrid's Riyadh Air Metropolitano is the only Spanish one on the list, alongside venues such as Wembley, the SoFi Stadium, the Stade de France, the Johan Cruijff ArenA and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The text also gathers the views of professionals on the circuit: Emma Banks (CAA), Hidde Salverda (Johan Cruijff ArenA) and Laura Chiplin (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium).
The Madrid venue had a landmark date this summer. On 30 July 2026 it hosted the only concert by Ye (Kanye West) in Spain, his first performance in the country in twenty years, according to the official tourism website of Madrid City Council.

Spain appearing with one venue in an international selection of twenty is not a verdict on the Spanish market. That is what the APM's Live Music Yearbook measures. But it does point to where stadium dates are being played out. The circuit is growing at double digits, and this year it does so with 16 North American venues blocked by football.
What effect that has on Europe's summer dates is our reading, not a conclusion of the report: when the big circuit narrows, the good dates get locked in earlier and with more competition for the same weekend. It is one more variable to watch alongside the event trends for 2026.
